Typical male chauvinism. The story has reached a point where the families of the bride and bridegroom are discussing shanthi muhurtham. That in itself is disgusting. To make it worse everyone seems to
be interested in knowing the bridegroom’s opinion and no one is bothered to ask what the girl would like. The director has made it appear like its a male prerogative and the woman has no role in it except that she is an item of pleasure with no personal feelings and desires.
The director should try to show women with atleast some spine. Characters like Selvam and Mrs Selvam should be portrayed to show a little more courage and spine.
Otherwise the story is a good family entertainer. But a lot of people watch these serials and may consciously or unconsciously pick up ideas from them. Care should be taken to depict ideas that are politically correct.

Just wants to say…Thirumathi Selvam is the best of the Serial in the world.
And the all the actor/actress doing the job very well. Very special nomination to Selvam step mother (Gauthami). she really doing a part of mother n mother-in-law job.
